Dr Frank Amoakohene Biography: President John Dramani Mahama has appointed the current Ashanti Regional NDC Secretary, Dr. Frank Amoakohene as the Regional Minister. He will take over from Simon Osei Mensah.
In a letter dated Tuesday, 14th January 2025, the President presented a list of candidates for the 10 regions, which includes Dr. Frank Amoakohene who will assume the role of Ashanti Regional Minister upon confirmation by Parliament.

Dr. Frank Amoakohene is a medical professional and youth leader with expertise in health, administration and public service.
He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Ghana, a PhD in Clinical Laboratory Science from UDS and an MBA from Accra Business School. A veteran politician, he currently serves as Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and has served in various leadership positions including as chairman of NAHSAG and NUGS and has worked at the national level for student welfare and advocacy.
Mr. Amoakohene has previously also stood as the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Mampong Constituency and has demonstrated his enthusiasm for public service and his ability to connect with people in the region.
As the new Regional Minister for Ashanti Region, Mr. Amoakohene will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of government policies and programmes in the region. He will work closely with local stakeholders including traditional leaders, business owners and community groups to foster development in the region.
